We
have provided this page to inform you of some valuable resources
that might be able to assist you. When facing a Fort Lauderdale
DUI charge, or if you know someone who is, we are aware
that it can be a difficult time. As such, we want to provide
you with valuable resources in Broward County to help. This
is by no means an exhaustive list of resources, just a few
things that can help you begin the process. You should always
consult an attorney first and foremost.
First, avoid a bad situation to begin with by getting an
alternative to driving drunk. This comes in the form of
designated drivers, cabs, limos, public transit, anything.
Plan ahead and avoid the temptation to drive drunk. Options
include Broward Taxi (954) 888-8888, Limos For Less (866)
343-7267, and Aventura
Limo. You should keep their phone numbers on you just
in case. Information on Broward County Transit is available
online.
Second, if you would like to see the arrest information
and photograph of someone in Broward, you can access this
through the BSO Website by clicking
here. Charges and bond information is available online
or you can call (954) 831-5900 or visit the information
window in the lobby of BSO's jail, which is open 24-hours-a-day.
Cash, cashier's checks, money orders, wire transfers and
Western Union Quick Collect are the only accepted bail payment
methods. Make financial instruments payable to the "Sheriff
of Broward County".
Western Union Instructions:
Pay to: Sheriff of Broward County
Code city & state: COPS, FL
Account number: Inmate's name and arrest number
Keep the blue bond receit and court disposition sheet that
releases the bond, both will be needed for refunds for cash
bonds.
Third, visiting hours for inmates of the BSO facilities
vary by location. Consult their online
guide for more information.
